Day 43- Jasper National Park

We got up early and spent the day sighting the area. It started out as cloudy with a few rain drops but cleared up until the last stop. We started morning on the Jasper tram which took us to the top of the mountain for breakfast. We ate our breakfast on the top with a beautiful view of the valley and mountains. Could have started the morning any better! Before we left the campground we saw three elk eating the grass and enjoying life!
After breakfast, we drove our way to Maligne Lake with many stops at lakes and canyons. They were beautiful and very quiet. We enjoyed the scenery with the mountains and blue green lakes. On our way to Maligne Lake we came upon a herd of big horn sheep which was just lying on the roadside enjoying the attention from all the cameras. Also we have seen 8 elk on the way. Once we got to Maligne Lake, we took a 90 minute boat ride around the lake to see all the glaciers and their reflections into the lake. The sun did come out and it was beautiful.
Our last trip was to Athabasca Falls which was absolute beautiful and powerful. It is the most powerful falls in the area. We walked around it and enjoyed the scenery. It amazed us! Wow!!
Tomorrow we will travel to Banff National Park.
