Day 1-Perham to Devils Lake

Our trip from Perham was uneventful except we had rain from Crookston to the late evening in Devils Lake. We were able to make our stops and get what we needed down. We arrived in Devils Lake with all the rain and wet conditions. Water and mud everywhere. We set up camp at Woodlake Resort where the dikes are holding back the lake! One cannot believe the amount of water there is present in that area. The roads were full of potholes!

We were to meet my sister, Mary, Aunt Phyllis and her daughter for supper at the Ranch. We were looking forward to the fellowship. Phyllis and Connie never showed up and we learned that Connie had found Phyllis dead in her bed. What a way to died but what a shock! So we went to Phyllis house and spend time with Connie and Terry. What a time of remembrance! She dead just like her Mom- Grandma Emma. I will miss her because she was my last relative on Dad’s side and I was named after her. We always had a special relationship.

What a day!
