After a breakfast with coffee with grounds in it- due to the lack of coffee filters and horrible tasting water, we set off to Rugby to visit with my other aunt-Elsie. The roads continued to be full of potholes! We had a great visit with Elsie – she gave us coffee and apple pie. It was great. It was good to see her again and wish her an early 90th birthday! Wow she is still living on her own but does have vision issues. May I be so lucky to live that old!
We traveled north to the Peace Gardens and had a great visit there. But with the wet conditions, we saw few flowers. But the 911 and Cactus exhibit was very good.
After crossing the border, we decided to go all the way to Regina. The roads were full of potholes and we had a 100 mile detour due to the flooding. We drove though the Souris Valley which was the cause of the flooding in Minot. There was water everywhere! They got 7 inches of rain last weekend which was following on soaked land. The crops are poor and I don’t think they will have much of a crop.
We arrived at Regina at 7:30 PM and as we were setting up the camper the mosquitoes visited us.
