Day 4-Regina

The day started with the clouds and a bit on the cold side. We went to visit the Royal Saskatchewan Museum which was great and very interesting. On the lower level the geological formation of the earth here in Saskatchewan was shown. It has many interactive exhibits and showed all about the plants and animals as well. The First Nation (Indians) exhibit was super. The detail was outstanding. The upper levels dealt with biological sciences. It was good and couple of few interesting points learned:

Latin for northern pike fish is “Wolf Warrior”.

Some of Saskatchewan song birds migrant to Costa Rica yearly. They spend less than 3 months here.
After lunch we went to the legislative building (Capitol building). It was 100 years old and has 34 different types of granite. The legislative branch met from September to end of May. They only have one body in the legislature. Cabinet members are voted members of the legislature and have duel jobs. They are appointment in their jobs and can be removed without notice.  We probably caused our tour guide some anxiety with all our questions. We have visited many capitol buildings and enjoy the history within those walls. Cheryl would be proud of us!!

Came back to meet our neighbors- an oil contractor from Edmonton and retired couple who live in their camper. They winter in Arizona and do not have another place.

At dinner time the sun has appeared. Off to Saskatoon tomorrow. Time to pack and organize for the trip.
