It was an interesting drive from Whitehorse to Dawson City. It was a very rough road with many, many dips, potholes and gravel. It was slow but a pretty drive. Of course it was dry and very few animals. There was some lakes and/or rivers but not near the road. Towns were far apart and very few. We did stop at Braeburn for a large cinnamon bun that they had advertised in the Milepost. It was huge and we had enough for breakfast. This bun was $9.00! Well it happens only once! As we got closer to Dawson City the trees were more plentiful and everything was green. But there are rocks everywhere from all the dredging from the gold mines.
Once we got set up we went downtown to the visitors center to get the latest scoop and watched three 15 minutes about the Dawson City and the Gold Rush. They gave us a good understanding of the events and what we wanted to see. After supper we drove up to midnight dome and had a beautiful view for miles. We were fortunate that the clouds had gone away so we could see the mountains on the Alaskan side.
Internet service is not very good so we will post these later went we are back in more populated areas.
