Today we left Seward and traveled to Kenai about 108 miles away . We stopped at the Exit Glacier which we were able to walk to the glacier. It was an interesting walk and we saw two black bears on the way. It is 3 mile long and about 300 feet deep. The glacier has been melting but will make more ice if they have enough snow in the winters. That is the key to glaciers- snow.
We are camping at Diamond M ranch which has a ranch of animals for the kids to see and visit. It is like a western town and sits on the Kenai River. It is time for river salmon fishing- the red salmon are running up stream to spawn. This is more netting fish than fishing. We are hearing that people will take home 100+ of fish. So the campground is over flow tonight.
Tomorrow we are off to Homer for the day.
